A report from Daily American Online on Public support for libraries. They say that it’s low in Somerset County and in all of Pennsylvania.
In Somerset County, that is only $5 per resident.
People donate an average of $14.60 per person to public libraries in Pennsylvania, according to a study done by the Philadelphia Inquirer.
“We were aware it was low, but this is shocking,” said Eve Kline, administrator of the Somerset County Federated Library System. “This is only libraries in the system – Somerset, Meyersdale and Windber – and doesn’t include the Biesecker Library in Somerset.”
