Library offers refuge for homeless, Ivy League-bound teen

Buried in this story about a Brown University-bound high school senior is a sentence about how the public library offered refuge and safe space to William Cunningham who has been homeless most of his teen years. Despite being homeless, Cunningham’s mother insisted that school and study remain a priority.

It’s a human interest story that may get some eyes rolling, but I’m always happy to be reminded that libraries can make a difference in people’s lives.
