Library Hiring Practices Need A Dose of Sunlight

Michael McGrorty Has Posted an interesting story of his quest for a job at the County of Los Angeles libraries. Rather than accept the silent version of the runaround as a final outcome, he decided to ask for some help. he filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Labor. They in turn have accepted the case and have sent a notice to the County Library. The letter from the DOL to the County is lengthy; it includes s summary of allegations and other material. His experience as a former investigator for the Department of Labor, as well as a private investigator in the field of labor and employment matters provides some interesting added perspective.
