In Fort Wayne, IN, there’s a library for sale and the price is right…only one dollar.
HeraldToday.com reports on “The Alamo” a historic library building, a part of the Allen County Public Library system. They bought the building in 2001, and planned to move it to create a plaza, but it turns out that the building has a “notable” rating on the Indiana Historic Sites and Structures Inventory, making it eligible for the National Register.
Here’s some backstory on the building, which features some lovely wooden floors, high ceilings and stained glass lintels, and the community’s hope to somehow keep it for posterity.
