Library Evacuated Due to Device in Car

The Weber County (UT) Library was evacuated for a brief time Wednesday afternoon after police found an explosive device and methamphetamine lab in a nearby car.

Just before 2 p.m. Ogden police spotted a wanted man who had been on the run for quite awhile, said Ogden police Lt. Scott Sangberg. The man was wanted for investigation of a variety of charges including forgery, burglary and auto theft, he said.

Jefferson between 24th and 25th Street was blocked off and the library evacuated while the Davis County Explosive Ordinance Unit responded. The explosive device was rendered safe after about an hour and the library was reopened about 3 p.m. More from the Deseret News.
