Library books seized in raid on illegal photocopying

News From Singapore says a two-hour raid on three photocopying shops last week, 30 original books were seized that could be used to track down their borrowers. Most books were on loan from public and university libraries.

The Association of American Publishers (AAP), which financed the raid, is cautioning borrowers, usually students, that they could be held liable for infringing copyright laws.

‘Their first punishment is to pay the overdue library fines of books that have been seized. The next time, they might not get off so easy,’
