The Fort Myers News-Press Has A Report on the Southwest Florida Library Network (SWFLN) an organization representing 40 county, college, medical and private libraries who hosted its first Library Advocacy Breakfast on Wednesday.
Network executive director Barbara Stites said she has invited state and local representatives, library supporters and the general public to learn more about the roles libraries play.
“It just seemed the time has finally come to realize the funding is going backward,” Stites said.
That isn’t to say library funding overall has fallen. In Southwest Florida, local governments are pumping more money into their libraries.
