Libraries across Northern Ireland are today expected to receive news of a much-needed financial windfall.
It is understood that the Department for Culture, Arts and Leisure will announce later today funding of up to £1m to be spent on new books.
The department is also due to announce details of a major consultation process on the future of the library service across the province.
