Librarian returns – without SARS

An Interesting Story Out Of Florida on Gayle Grossman, who returned from a trip to China on the last weekend of April only to learn that some parents had threatened to keep their children out of Bayview Elementary School unless she kept her distance.

She was back at work Wednesday, reading stories to children and catching up on a longer-than-usual list of overdue books.

Grossman first offered to use vacation and sick days to stay away from Bayview last week, even though she was in perfect health and nowhere near any reported SARS cases during her China visit. Broward school officials eventually placed her in an administrative job, away from children, for 10 days, the duration recommended by health officials to ensure someone does not have SARS. Second Story.
