Librarian is a job to have in 2006

wordy1 writes “According to US News and World Report, librarians are right up there with audiologists, engineers, speech therapists, and clergy for jobs to have in 2006. Obviously, pay is not the driving factor of this list.”

They call it an “underrated career” and say the need for librarians, unfortunately, may decline because search engines make it easy for patrons to find information without a librarian’s help. The job growth for librarians will be in nontraditional settings: corporations, nonprofit organizations, and consulting firms.
