Larry Beinhart’s forthcoming novel is The Librarian, due in September from Nation Books. From the publisher’s fall catalog:
“How on earth did nebbish university librarian David Goldberg end up on Virginia’s Ten Most Wanted Criminals list for bestiality? And how did he get ensnared in a vast right-wing conspiracy to steal the presidency?”
How’s that for a hook?
Cool. But…
In the interest of historical accuracy, shouldn’t the novel have been set in Florida, circa 2000?
Discussing “The Librarian”
Possibly of no interest to anyone but me (?), but I notice that the publishers website doesn’t have any phone, fax or email contact information – only a street address. (Although you can sign up for their emailed newsletter.)
Is this usual? Does it signify anyathing of import? Or are they just shy …
Then, when you check out the distributer, Publishers West Group, you find that their corporate headquarters are in California; their National Accounts Office is in NY, NY; and their distribution center is in Indiana.
Maybe the nature of other offerings in the publisher’s catalog go some some way towards explaining this weirdness …
