When she’s not librarian-ing, she’s competing in strongman sports, in which athletes race to perform wacky, horrendously difficult feats of manual labor. Forget barbells; strongmen are flipping tires and pulling trucks, testing their mettle in a brassy, crowd-pleasing way.
“I picked up my boyfriend once. I don’t know if he’s going to be pleased about that, that I’m telling people about that. I lifted him off of the floor. I said, “Let’s get a picture.” He said, “No, let’s not get a picture.”
