Korean Books to Be Sent Overseas

A Short Korean Times Piece says South Korea will send publications on Korean art and culture to educational facilities in other countries as part of efforts to improve its international image. “We’ll distribute good cultural and art publications to ‘hallyu’ areas such as China, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore to introduce Korea’s high-class culture and art world,’’ the Culture Ministry said in a statement. “Hallyu,’’ which means “Korean wave,’’ refers to the burgeoning popularity of South Korean pop culture in Asian countries.
