Kerry Promises Teachers Spending Boost

Presidential hopeful John Kerry is promising higher salaries for America’s educators in hopes of securing their votes. At a recent convention for the American Federation of Teachers, he said “his first presidential priority would be financial support for schools, saying educators who move kids from sorrow to success need big help themselves.” Read all about it.

    Wow
    One would hope his first presidential priority would be national security, or perhaps foreign affairs, or resolution of the Iraq conflict, or the economy, or socialized medicine or whatever else he has said his first priority would be.

    I wish he would just pick one first priority and stick with it and not keep changing the message depending upon the audience.

    You are my #37 Priority
    At work, in a meeting earlier this year they keep telling us over and over “Our focus must be on the “Top Priority, Priority #1, projects”. I was honestly confused because the only types of projects I’ve ever worked on or know about were deemed “Prioirty #1”. So I asked the executive giving the presentation what is an example of another priority project, like “Priority #2”. She thought about it for as second and said, with a straight face, the only priority is “#1 Priority” – there are no other priorities. One of those mouth open moments for me…

    Anyways, this double talk drives me up the wall too. Unfortuately, all politicians do this sort of pandering all the time, its not just Kerry! I’m trying to imagine that audience when he says “education is my 37th priority after…”
