News From K.C. on R. Crosby Kemper III, chairman and CEO of Kansas City-based UMB Financial Corp., who was just named interim director by The Kansas City Public Library.
Kemper told The Business Journal Friday that it’s too early to say whether he would take the job on a permanent basis if the board offers it.
“The library has a couple of strategic needs, and I think my skills fit the bill right now,” he said.
Kemper said he accepted the job because of his passion for books, literature and “the life of the mind.”
“The second reason is that the library is at a great moment in its life, and Downtown and the city as a whole are in the midst of a renaissance.”
