Karyn is nearly saved. Read all about it!

You may have heard of Karyn Bosnak. Her website, www.savekaryn.com, has been quite a wonder in many Internet communities because of her bold approach to getting out of debt. A recent article tells us she\’s nearing her goal, but buried in the middle is this little tease: \”Bosnak says she has even been approached by a publisher for a possible book deal, and a producer about selling the movie rights.\”

In fact, she hasn\’t just been approached. Publishers Lunch\’s \”Deal Lunch\” newsletter made this deal announcement on October 15: \”Karyn Bosnak\’s SAVE KARYN: Diary Of A Girl In Debt, a madcap memoir about her life in the big city (she\’s from the Midwest), and how she came to owe $20,000 through excessive shopping, and then started a website (www.savekaryn.com), in which she asks for donations to help her get out of debt, to Alison Callahan at HarperCollins, in a nice deal, by Jennifer Unter at RLR Associates (NA). Film rights have been optioned to Escape Artists (Forrest Gump, Risky Business) at Sony Pictures.\” By their lights, a \”nice deal\” is one at the low end of the scale, between $1 and $100,000. Still, not bad for somebody who was $20k in debt last June.
