Judy Wallace The Singing Librarian

Judy Wallace is not singing for her supper, she’s singing at her library’s supper. Wallace, the librarian at the Mattapoisett Free Public Library, is a guitar and harmonica player who plays with husband David Gries, a full-time musician/music teacher who plays bass, in a band called the Judy Wallace Group.

A native of Plymouth, Conn., Wallace made much of her living from music in her 20s, she said. She also worked in libraries, starting small and eventually working her way up to being director. She has been head of the Mattapoisett library for the past 11 years. Some know her as a singing librarian, and some are surprised to hear about it. More @ The Boston Globe
