Joint Hearing on Database and Collections of Information Misappropriation Act

An Anonymous Patron sends us this link to the testimony of William A. Wulf, President of the National Academy of Engineering, during the Joint Hearing on Database and Collections of Information Misappropriation Act last September. During his testimony, Wulf (who was also speaking on behalf of ALA, among other associations) discussed the importance of the public domain to libraries and researchers. He called upon Congress to tread carefully when considering further legislation upon databases and collections of information. He finds little need for any strengthening of protections and in fact fears it will be harmful.

This is especially important to consider as the bill is making its way through Congress NOW.
