Indianapolis’ Way Overdue Library Building

Cortez writes “The people planning the “new improved library services – but with no librarians” might actually be
restarting the Main library renovation project marked by lawsuits and ousting of the former director.

“The project was financed with $60 million in tax dollars and $43 million in private donations. It’s unclear how much of the additional costs will be covered by insurance or lawsuits and how much may be tacked on to the project’s bottom line. Also uncertain is when, exactly, the new library will open. Under the original timeline, steel erection would have begun last spring.””
