Indian Small publishers find it hard to take part in mega book fests

The regional language publishers are finding it difficult to participate in mega book fests like the Delhi Book Fair owing to the higher charges that they have to pay for the stalls.

Though the nine-day Delhi Book Fair attracted a large number of book lovers, they complain that they found less number of publishers from regional language.

“I went to the book fair with much anticipation. But I was disappointed as I could not find many stalls on regional languages,” Sanjeev Sinha, who went to the fair searching for Hindi books, said.

The organisers admit that the charges for the stalls were dissuading regional language publishers from coming to the book fair.
