In parents’ book, librarian cuts go too far

Families in Spokane launch what has grown into a statewide effort to protect schools’ guardians of the shelves. Convinced that children and education suffers when librarians disappear, a loose-knit band of Spokane families launched what has become a statewide campaign to bring school librarians back from the brink.

    We Need Washington State to Cut their Taxes!
    I’m really disappointed that Washington parents are interfering with the school system to re-introduce librarians cut from the budget. After all, with the new political attacks on illegal immigrants, where else but Washington state can we depend upon a number of fast food industry workers and janitors and agricultural migrant workers? We need more under-educated workers to replace all them illegal immigrants, and Washington was a good resource of dumb and ignorant future employees.
    Besides, the other states need new science and high tech industries to move to their localities, and taking Washington out of the pot leaves more lucre for the other 49 states.
    Let’s send a message back to Washington that the rest of the country needs them to cut more state taxes for school and public libraries and reading. We need more bidable employees for scut work, and we are looking for Washington to lead the way! After all, if you ignore the future, think of all the money you can spend today by reducing taxes. Besides, the really smart kids, and the ones who already know how to read, will know how to leave the state or attend private schools, if-ay you-ay ow-knay at-whay I-ay ean-may.

      Your pig latin needs work
      In pig latin, you add the suffix after the first consonant of the word; words that start with vowels don’t get “ay”ed. So your sentence should read: if ou-yay ow-knay at-whay I ean-may. Or maybe now-kay hat-way.

      Oh, wait. Maybe I shouldn’t be edumacating you this way. Are you from Washington by any chance?

      Sorry. Repeat after me instead:

      Hey, Mr. Tally-man, tally the tomato . . .

      And, no, you may not have an extra penny a pound. Who do you think you are? Oliver Twist?

      Save the easily offended: ban everything.
