IMPAC Dublin Literary Award-Long List 2006

Kathleen writes “The International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award is the largest and most international prize of its kind. The nomination process for the Award is unique as nominations are made by selected libraries in capital and major cities throughout the world.

It involves libraries from all corners of the globe, and is open to books written in any language.
The Award, an initiative of Dublin City Council, is a partnership between Dublin City Council, the Municipal Government of Dublin City, and IMPAC, a productivity improvement company which operates in over 50 countries. The Award is administered by Dublin City Public Libraries.

Here is the Long List

Many of the nominated titles have also been selected by the American Library Association Notable Book Council and include Khadra, Yasmina. The Swallows of Kabul and Mitchell, David. Cloud Atlas. . Since the ALA Notable Book Council year and the IMPAC Year overlap we will have to wait until ALA Midwinter 2006 to find out for certain.”
