Huge Library of Movie Classics Gets Refurbished

Media, the sixth largest of its kind, is refurbishing its library of 1,500 movie classics, including “The African Queen,” to take advantage of the DVD boom and high-definition TV. CEO Rupert Dilnott-Cooper says this restoration process will future-proof the library. Despite notions of preservation and profitability, the restoration isn’t easy, with each film taking a typical 50,000 frame-by-frame fixes.”
