Anonymous Patron writes “Suggestions that books could be delivered to pubs and shops in a town in Northumberland UK open have caused outrage.
But Wylam Parish Council is still hopeful that the village’s library will be seen as too valuable to lose when the County Council decides which libraries must face the axe.
“This proposal comes from the library service itself not from the county council. It will provide a better rationalised library service in its view, and it is suggesting an IT based service where books are delivered to a convenience store or a pub.””
