Homeschoolers and librarians

Anonymous Patron writes “Home School Legal Defense Association has a feature on Homeschoolers and librarians, by Jan Fletcher, secretary of the Kentucky Home Education Association.
She says Homeschoolers and public libraries are natural partners in the homeschooler’s learning adventure. Many times, the local librarian is the first person a prospective homeschooler will ask for information on homeschool laws and local support.”

    Librarian may/may not be the first point of call
    The librarian may be the first person anyone asks for information, or the internet may be first consulted, or both. The librarian is no longer automatically the first point of call. Nor is the internet. It is important to remember to have all the options open regarding the sources of information.
