Hoax Author Now Sought By Chicago Police

The Curmudgeony Librarian writes “The interesting tale of Norma Khouri has taken an interesting twist as the author of Forbidden Love is now being sought by the Chicago Police for stealing over $400,000 in savings bonds from an elderly Chicago
woman. Additionally Khouri is alleged to have stolen the woman’s house in a real estate scam, as well as $33,000 in cash from her safety depost box.
Khouri–who’s real name is Norma Toliopoulos–first came to prominance with the release of Forbidden Love a novel detailing the “honor killing” of a childhood friend in Jordan. This novel was later revealed to be a hoax by The Sydney Morning Herald.”
