History of censorship in Boston

Don Saklad sent over The FYI that answers this question:
“I know that licenses for such things as rock concerts have been denied in Boston because of concerns about public safety, but what was the last thing the city banned for its content. Was it a book, a movie, a play?.”

The last event was “Hair”, as for books, William Burroughs’s ”Naked Lunch,” was ruled obscene by a municipal judge in 1965.
