Historic Georgetown Library Will Be Repaired At a Cost of $15-20 Million

D.C.’s new mayor Adrian Fenty has said that the fire that ravaged the Georgetown Branch of the system’s library will be repaired over the next several years with at least partial funding coming from the city. Washington Post reports. The city’s new Library Director, Ginnie Cooper, a recent transfer from the Brooklyn Public Library said of the damage at the historic Peabody Room “The material is wet but not burned. We can deal with wet.”
