Harry Potter readers ‘can be split into four types’

Harry Potter readers can be split into four distinct types, according to a marketing expert. Each type conforms closely with one of the four houses found in Harry’s school Hogwarts, Professor Stephen Brown of Ulster University said.
His research found ‘Hufflepuff’ readers take the tales at a slow, steady and systematic pace and enjoy re-reading the books over and over.

    two types
    I have a theory in which there are two types of Harry Potter fans: children and adults who should be embarrassed to be reading a children’s book and getting all into it like it’s office gossip.

    They conform to two houses: Griffinpuffle-Whocares and Growthehellup.

    And there are two types of Harry Potter “haters”. The ones that believe it’s witchcraft and the old fuddy-duddies.

    So, what if I read Harry Potter and like it? I’ve read many, many things and love many different genres of literature, and not all of it is kiddie lit. Not everyone is one-dimensional.

    And some people just need to lighten up.

    Read the Young Stuff
    I always encourage adult readers to read youth books. Not only are they good reads, but they help in the mechanics of reading. The print is usually bigger, the plot and character outline are simpler and the comprehension is better.

    Also, it helps adults with their reading speed. Adults read youth books faster, and this learned skill helps transfer over to adult reading.

    Finally, many good children’s books are not encouraged for young readers because of sexist, racist or ethnic slurs in older books. Adults are better able to handle these diversions, and enjoy some good literature they missed as young people.
