Everyday I read ALOT of news stories from around the world about libraries. Most times I don\’t post them to LISNews because they are of local interest, but today I\’ll post a bunch of what I\’ve seen around the web, to give you an idea of what\’s going on out there.
It\’s not all good, and not all bad. On average I\’d say it seems to be mostly bad for school libraries, and so-so for the publics. First the Bad News:
Locke shortchanged us, state library officials say from WA.
TX, OR, TX Again, England, NC, WA and CO, all have bad news.
How about something good? Well, I found good news on
New or renovated libraries in AZ, WI, MI, RI, WA, and WA Again, WV and from The White House.
Keep your chins up, sometimes it seems like this is the worst time to be a library or a librarian, but the big picture looks pretty good!
