George Orwell’s 1984 and the Ministry of Reshelving Project

Chris Whittington writes “An article in Slate, “Shelving 101,” (last article on page) describes Avant Game blogster and game designer Jane McGonigal’s “Ministry of Reshelving Project,” in which participants go to bookstores, remove copies of George Orwell’s “1984” from the fiction or literature section, and reshelve them in the “‘Current Events”, “Politics”, “History”, “True Crime”, or “New Non-Fiction'” sections, leaving notecards explaining the transfer. As reported in Slate, not everyone has been pleased.
