‘Gay’ books topic draws large crowd

James Nimmo sent over a Short Article from The Oklahoman that you’ll need to register to read. Someone has been thinking of the children in OK:
A standing-room-only crowd turned out for a face-off on “appropriate” books for children at Thursday’s meeting of the Metropolitan Library Commission. Parents, gay rights activists, conservatives, civil libertarians and
politicians signed up to speak on the topic even though it was not on the commission’s agenda. In all, 16 people wanted to address the commission.
More than half the speakers said books with homosexual themes should be removed from children’s shelves and placed in the adult section of the library.

“It’s about access to books that are appropriate for children. They (gays) have a right to read about their lives, but I don’t believe the homosexual community has a right to impose their lifestyle on the community.”
