Foundation makes Grants to Keep Library Computers Current

Good tidings from Bill & Melinda: The AP reports that The Gates Foundation on Tuesday announced plans to give $8.3 million in grants to help keep library computers up-to-date in 10 states.

Library branches in Colorado, Delaware, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, Utah and Wyoming are eligible for computer hardware grants in this first round in a series of new grants, the foundation said. The money will be targeted toward poor communities.
