Former librarian leaves $62,000 to library

A Nice Article on Ruth Blackinton Browne, who was a librarian at the North Adams Public Library from 1955 to 1976, who has left a bequest of nearly $62,000 to the North Adams Public Library.

The money will allow for an expanded access to the library’s historical collections. It is intended for a dedicated local history area and a storage and work space in the newly renovated and expanded library.
