For New-Look Librarians, Head to Brooklyn

If you’re not sick of the stereotypical “we’re no stereotypes” stories, you might enjoy This NY Sun Piece on “hip, young librarians.” Although “hip” is not an adjective generally associated with librarians, a stack of archivists, publishers, illustrators, librarians, and other bibliophiles called the Desk Set is out to challenge their image as staid.

Asked how she can tell the archivists from the librarians, Ms. Cane said, “Different gang colors.”

    Did They Actually Use the Word “Guybrarian”
    I hope that the term “guybrarian” is never again used in any article or discussion of libraries or librarians.
