Florida Librarian Rehired After Porno-Viewing Flap

Our report earlier this month about the firing of Sue Martin now has a happier ending…she’s been hired back, and the City Commissioner who insisted on her dismissal has been relieved of his library responsibilities.

Martin was suspended after a registered sex offender and three boys reportedly used library computers to access pornographic Internet sites.

The panel returned her to her job at the Valparaiso Community Library. Commissioner Robert Billingsley, who had suspended Martin and recommended that she be fired, cast the lone dissenting vote.

Mayor John Arnold then stripped Billingsley of his library oversight duties.
