First Cool librarian gets posthumous birthday party

Good News: There’s a big birthday party for you at the library!
Bad News: You can’t make it.

The staff at Worcester Public Library held a birthday party yesterday, complete with cookies and cake, a rendition of the traditional birthday song, and a gift. But one guest was missing.

July 5 would have been the 55th birthday of Robert A. Caldwell, who died from cancer May 21. He worked at the library for 38 years. Mr. Caldwell couldn’t make it yesterday, but with smiles and tears, his friends celebrated for him.
