Fired Acquisitions Librarian Sues for Discrimination at GWU

This article in the George Washington University Hatchet is about a former acquisitions librarian, Mark Langer, who is now suing the Library Director and the University for discrimination and unfair discharge. Langer worked at the DC library from 2003-2006, but had to take several leaves of absence due to mental health issues, depression and ADD among them.

Jason Ehrenberg, Langer’s attorney, said GW did not handle his client’s case properly.
He commented: “Other universities will go out of their way to do anything possible not to fire somebody (in similar circumstances),” Ehrenberg said in a phone interview. “Here, it was just, ‘Screw you. Let’s get somebody else in there who’s not crazy and doesn’t have these problems.'”
