Fiji Librarian enters political arena

Anonymous Patron writes “Another librarian has been elected to political office, This Time it’s out in Fiji. After winning the North East Fijian Urban Communal seat on a clear majority on the first count Nanise Nagusuca said many women had the skills to run a business but did not have the money.

Mrs Nagusuca, 51, of Nokonoko in Saivou, Ra said there were single mothers who needed to support their children.

She is married to Meli Nagusuca and they have three children.

She graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Arts degree in governance and last year completed her Masters.

She was attached to a number of libraries in Canada and the US and worked for a while at the Western Regional Library in Lautoka.”
