I read much of a similar thread this morning on /. A number of respondents pointed out that the company in question is also know as Foo.net, a network that seems to be rather tolerant of its users DDoS’ing others, acquiring and circulating stolen credit card info, etc.
It may well be that the FBI was simply doing its job in this case.
