Not every church library is as impressive as the one at First Presbyterian, but a lot of churches are beefing up their libraries. Libraries are becoming a vital part of a church’s educational services.
There’s even an organization, the National Church Library Association, that helps its 1,200 members set up and manage libraries, and provides them with a quarterly magazine that includes reviews of books and other materials.
more than just NCLA
Blake, there is more than just the National Church Library Association (NCLA), actually. There is a group with whom I have worked for a number of years called the Evangelical Church Library Association (ELCA). I’ve also presented workshops at their annual conferences. See http://www.eclalibraries.org/ for more information.
And another one…
The Church and Synagogue Libraries Association can be found at http://cslainfo.org/.
