News From Georgia where The former director of a central-Georgia library system has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for stealing thousands of dollars in library funds.
David C. Wilson, who directed the Ocmulgee Regional Library System from for 22 years, must also pay $264,298 in restitution to the library system and a $75,000 fine, under a sentence issued Thursday by U.S. District Court Judge Dudley Bowen.
Wilson was director from 1982 until 2004. He was convicted in October of five counts of theft and one count of witness tampering.
Where did this guy (not) travel
Wow, I can travel pretty well on an extra $250 per check. I could have gone to Midwinter, I could have gone to FIL Guadalajara, I could have gone to the LAI in Dublin. Then again an $155K I could have done that without stealing from my library.
Have a nice time in prison, perhaps you could work in the law library. Don’t try to collect fines though the other guys in the slammer might not take too kindly to that. Then again after screwing over the staff and patrons perhaps you deserve to spend your days wondering who is not happy with you.
