Elsevier Donates Textbooks to Developing Countries

Elsevier, part of the huge multinational Reed Elsevier Group, has committed to contributing 700 textbooks, valued at $1 million dollars, to libraries at universities in developing countries in a commemorative program entitled A Book In Your Name.

As part of the program, each of the 6,700 Elsevier employees worldwide has been invited to select one of 10 libraries in developing countries to receive a book in the scientific, technical or medical field. Recipient libraries are located in Sierra Leone, Malawi, Ecuador, Guatemala and Vietnam, and titles include ‘Gray’s Anatomy’, nursing and midwifery texts.
