A story that didn’t get much coverage here (just this), that of the abduction and molestation of a two-year old in the downtown Des Moines library last year, has concluded with the suspect James Effler confessing to the police on videotape . The TV report warns that the confession is graphic.
Though the crime was horrible, the good news is how brave and in control librarian Dorothy Kelley was in helping to nab the suspect last October (click on the “story” link above). The columnist also gives kudos to librarians in general and congratulates them on the great work they do.
