Crisis in Capetown: Not Enough Money for Librarians

The City of Cape Town is trying to raise R5 million to end the shortage, precisely the amount the national government is spending on an investigation into problems in library services.

Seven libraries in the northern and southern suburbs, as well as the Atlantic seaboard, are expected to be closed at the end of the month while staff go on leave.
