Cowley wins book of the year

Children’s author Joy Cowley has won the New Zealand Post Book of the Year award.

Her novel Hunter also won the junior fiction category – the third time she has taken this prize.

The judging panel said Hunter has the potential to become a classic for young readers on the international stage.

Nobody’s Dog, written by Jennifer Beck and illustratrated by Lindy Fisher, proved a favourite with children, winning the coveted children’s choice award.
