Katie Olsen writes “Fred Byergo, the Library Director of Cook Memorial Public Library District, announced his retirement yesterday. He has served the Library District for 38 years and has left a legacy of high-quality patron-focused service. He will be greatly missed. Cook Memorial Public Library District serves most of Libertyville and Vernon Hills, as well as parts of Green Oaks, Mettawa, Indian Creek, and Mundelein Illinois.”
