Congressman to use Thomas Jefferson’s Quran at Swearing In

From the AP, a story about the first Muslim U.S. Congressman to be sworn in (today), Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, D-Minn, and how he chose to use Thomas Jefferson’s copy of the Quran, a part of the rare book collection at the LOC, for his swearing in. The chief of the Library of Congress’ rare book and special collections division, Mark Dimunation, will walk the Quran across the street to the Capitol and bring it back after the ceremony.
