Confronted librarian ‘put fingers in his ears’

Anonymous Patron writes “Strange One out of New Zeland, where they say The Waiouru Army Museum librarian put his fingers in his ears and walked out of a confrontation with the museum’s archivist. Librarian Jeffrey Russell said he had problems with Ms Ho from when he was appointed librarian in early 2003. Ms Ho, who had established the library and ran it till Mr Russell’s appointment, provided orientation when he first took up the job.”

    That’s what the kids I work with do when they want to be really obvious they’re not listening to you.

    Deaf-out
    A librarian friend of mine from a school for the deaf, said that when deaf kids want to tune you out, they simply close their eyes. At that point, they can’t read your hand signs.

    Really rude deaf kids place their hands over their eyes to emphasize they aren’t listening to your signs anymore.
