China’s National Library Open To Non-Capital Residents

The Curmudgeony Librarian writes “A new day has dawned in China, as the National Library of China has opened its doors to non-capital residents. The Library has lifted the regulation limiting non-Beijinginers from borrowing books from the library.
The number of patrons is expected to grow, as readers outside Beijing are now allowed to join. It is unknown if westerners will also gain access to the library. The library holds a collection of 22,400,000 volumes, and is ranked fifth in the libraries of the world.”
